SMTP mail servers

For standard POP account customers, Firstserv does not provide an outgoing (sending) email service. This is due to the problems encountered by leaving machines in a mail open relay configuration.

Therefore you will need to contact your ISP to locate the outgoing email server. Some examples are below.

SMTP mail servers for ISPs

• Freeserve use smtp.freeserve.net
• Pipex use smtp.dial.pipex.com
• Demon use post.demon.co.uk
• Lineone use smtp.lineone.net
• Freedotnet use smtp.fdn.co.uk
• BT users mail.btopenworld.com, smtp.btinternet.com, bt.com, smtp.lineone.net

Alternatively you may choose to install an SMTP server on your local Network or machine. A good free version can be found at www.mailenable.com.
