SMTP mail servers

Mac OS example

1. From the Edit menu in Internet Mail select Preferences.

2. Click on the E-mail option (under Mail & News) in the list on the left-hand side of the window.

3. Check that the following settings are correct:

• Real name: the name you wish to appear on any e-mail you send (e.g. Alan Jones).
• E-mail address: your full e-mail address (e.g. alan.jones@yourcompany.co.uk).
• SMTP host: post.demon.co.uk Click here for a list of SMTP mail servers for ISPs.
• Account ID: alan.jones%yourcompany.co.uk (NB. for mac clients use a % sign instead of the @ sign for the login).
• POP host: post.firstserv.co.uk (or as notified, eg. post2.firstserv.co.uk).
• Password: your POP3 password (case sensitive as notified).

4. Click on the Advanced button and make sure that the 'Delete received mail from server' option is chosen.

5. Click OK to save your settings.
