With full support for J2EE specifications, Adobe, formally Macromedia™ JRun™ is an easy-to-use Java™ application server and integrated development environment for building and deploying server-side Java applications.
JRun 4 enables companies to build advanced Java based enterprise business systems that take advantage of distributed transactions, servlets and Java Server Pages.
With Firstserv's JRun hosting each customer is provided with a separate JRun server allowing web applications to be processed by an independent Java Virtual Machine (JVM). Advantages of this approach include prevention of naming conflicts between web applications and preventing all web applications from failing if one JRun server becomes unstable.
Although we do not provide access to the server-wide control panel we do provide customers with a custom script which will allow a stop-start of their individual server.
Firstserv is responsible for the quality of the physical hosting and the stability of the JRun application server. Firstserv are not responsible for the stability of your own JRun server instance, over which you have control.
